Women’s Foundation‘s 38th Annual Luncheon will hold forth at the Hilton Anatole on Tuesday, September 26, with The Dallas Mavericks as the presenting sponsor. For its keynote speaker, Luncheon Co-Chairs Ashleigh Everett and Yolanda Garcia have arranged to have actress/advocate Storm Reid.
According to Foundation Interim President/CEO Dena L. Jackson, “We have the perfect ‘storm’ with Storm and know her words will be riveting and powerful. We’re thankful to the team of Ashleigh and Yolanda for helping make our signature luncheon one that you must attend.”
In addition to her numerous roles over the past decade (“Twelve Years A Slave,” “A Wrinkle in Time,” “Invisible Man,” “The Suicide Squad,” “Missing,” etc.) and her Emmy-nominated role in “The Last Of Us,” she and her mother Robyn Simpson created the independent multimedia production house, “A Seed and Wings Production,” for narratives that forge multi-cultural conversations, entertain, educate and uplift.
Storm also launched ArashiBlu which she described as advocacy and support for the next generation of creators by being of service to her community.
Recently, she kicked off 1720 One Park At A Time, as part of ArashiBlu to “restore parks and playgrounds in underprivileged neighborhoods across the country.”
Just last month she not only broke ground on such a park in her hometown of Atlanta, Georgia, but she celebrated her 20th birthday.
Tickets and sponsorships for the luncheon are available here.
