In addition to North Texas simmering through the heatwave of 2018, it’s also juggling through a series of “change of plans.” Despite the 100-plus-degree temperatures, Dallas Women’s Foundation President/CEO Ros Dawson kept her cool when she got word that the Foundation’s 33rd Annual Luncheon keynoter Ava DuVernay wasn’t going to be able to make the Tuesday, October 30, fundraiser.
Like a skilled diplomat, Ros managed to get all the working piece in place (i.e., Presenting Sponsor Toyota, Co-Chairs Lael Brodsky and Tricia Miller, Honorary Co-Chairs Matrice Ellis-Kirk and Ron Kirk and interviewer Michele Norris) for the rescheduled luncheon on Wednesday, November 7.
BTW, the change of date proved advantageous regarding the location as well. Instead of the Hilton Anatole’ Trinity Ballroom, the luncheon will take place in the Anatole’s Chantilly Ballroom. That’s so much closer to the parking lot, don’t you know.
So, dab some Wite-Out on that October 30th date and write in Wednesday, November 7, for “the Foundation’s principal fundraiser in support of it work to advance women’s economic security, leadership, childcare access and healthcare in North Texas and to drive positive social and economic change for women and girls through research, advocacy and grant-making.”
