Genesis Prime Care, located in Marshall, Texas, is one of several health care agencies in North and East Texas to be awarded a grant from the Texas Women’s Foundation (TXWF). The foundation has announced its second round of grants from the Health Care Access Fund, totaling $420,000, to help improve access to health care for women and girls in underserved communities.

The Reproductive Freedom Initiative, launched by the Texas Women’s Foundation in 2022, aims to provide both urgent and long-term women’s healthcare programming to communities in North and East Texas that are in dire need of resources.

This recent round of grants, combined with the previous grants given earlier this year, brings the total amount awarded by the foundation to $907,125. These funds will benefit a total of 15 organizations dedicated to improving healthcare access in rural Texas.

The TXWF’s Health Care Access Fund seeks to bridge the gap in health care availability, particularly for women and girls, in rural areas where resources are limited. By providing grants to organizations like Genesis Prime Care, the foundation aims to ensure that women and girls in these underserved communities have the necessary resources to access vital health care services.

The grants awarded by the TXWF will contribute to the development and expansion of programs and services that address the unique health care needs of women and girls. These initiatives will help to improve overall health outcomes and ensure that all individuals, regardless of their socioeconomic status or geographic location, have access to quality health care.

With the support of the Texas Women’s Foundation, organizations like Genesis Prime Care can continue their important work in providing essential health care services to women and girls in rural North and East Texas. These grants are an important step in creating a more equitable and accessible health care system for all.
