Thanks to you, we did it.
Through the abundant generosity of our donors and friends, we met the goal of providing Resilience Fund grants to every unfunded request still in queue in June!
And as we look back over these past 14 months, since April 2020, the Resilience Fund has raised and expended over $3.1 million in support of 126 grants to exceptional organizations serving the women and families most impacted by the pandemic, the economic crisis and racial injustice in our society.
This extraordinary level of funding has come from small gifts and very large gifts, given by individuals, families and corporations, all moved to help the most vulnerable in our community from the onset of the crisis to today. To each and every donor, we are deeply and immensely grateful.
As we take this moment to celebrate the generosity and greatheartedness of our donors and friends, and the noble and important work of our grantee partners, we also know that we can’t stop here. The deep disparities revealed over the past 14 months have not disappeared – and the issues affecting low income women and families, particularly women of color and their children, will continue for months and even years to come.
Every day of the past 14 months we saw in stark detail the fundamental reason we exist as a women’s foundation – to address the issues that uniquely affect women and their families. In these terrible and often tragic times, and in the times ahead, our mission matters – and represents a social, economic and moral imperative.
So we look ahead, with hope and determination, knowing that our work must not only continue but grow to meet the needs of women and families. We hope you will stay with us on this journey toward a recovery that empowers, supports and affirms all Texans in communities of equity and opportunity.
Texas Women’s Foundation joined North Texas’ most respected foundation leaders for an online discussion on how the local social impact community is responding to COVID-19, what each of these organizations is doing, and how we can be strategic in our work together over the coming months.
