At Dallas Women’s Foundation, we believe that to make real progress for women and girls, we must strengthen the pipeline of women leaders. This belief is the heart of our Unlocking Leadership Campaign, and our commitment to advance opportunities that empower women and girls in the workplace and the community. An important aspect of strengthening this pipeline is highlighting strong women who have blazed a trail for women and girls to follow – women who have overcome challenges, transformed communities, and are rewriting the future for women and girls in leadership.
On Tuesday, May 9, Dallas Women’s Foundation will once again honor remarkable women from our community who are not only leaders in their respective roles, but have made a strong impact by positively affecting the lives of women and girls. Our Leadership Forum & Awards Dinner, presented by AT&T and co-chaired by Cheryl Alston and Laura V. Estrada, will present the Maura Women Helping Women Award to Hind El Saadi El Jarrah, PhD; Madeline McClure, LCSW; The Honorable Tonya Parker; and Sheriff Lupe Valdez. The Young Leader Award, presented by Capital One, will be awarded to Cynthia Nwaubani, CPA.
Our keynote speaker for the evening is Carla Harris, Vice Chairman at Morgan Stanley. An accomplished Wall Street businesswoman, Harris has been named to Fortune Magazine’s list of “50 Most Powerful Black Executives in Corporate America.” She is an author of many books on leadership and accomplished gospel singer. Harris will share her “battle-tested” tools for thriving in the workplace and beyond.
I hope you’ll join us in our shared commitment to women’s leadership by attending this special event and celebrating the remarkable and outstanding women from our community. Your support on May 9 will extend far beyond an evening of celebration; it will advance our work at Dallas Women’s Foundation empowering women and girls to lead and achieve an economically secure future. Together we are strengthening the pipeline of women in leadership, because strong women make a better world.
Sincerely,
Roslyn Dawson Thompson
